East Islip 1, Rocky Point 0: John Talt's squeeze bunt in the bottom of the 10th inning drove in Thomas Costarelli to lead No. 2 East Islip over No. 7 Rocky Point in the first round of the double-elimination Suffolk Class AA playoffs. Costarelli reached base on a walk, stole second and advanced to third on Mike Tramaglini's hit to rightfield. Lucas Patton was then walked to load the bases with no outs before the walk-off bunt. Costarelli struck out 10 and allowed only three hits in nine innings. Talt pitched the top of the 10th inning for the win. East Islip (19-2) will host No. 6 Hauppauge at 4 p.m. Thursday in the winners bracket. Ryan Loughlin pitched seven scoreless innings for Rocky Point (11-8), which will visit No. 3 West Babylon at 4 p.m. Thursday in an elimination game.
